Award Tracker is an amateur radio award tracking application designed
to work on Microsoft Windows ™ operating systems. It has been
tested to work on Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit), and Windows 10 (64 bit).

Award Tracker currently supports these logging programs:

Ham Radio Deluxe (version 5.x & 6.x)
PSK Express (version 1.3)
Logger32 (via ADIF & ADIF Audit Trail.txt)

Swisslog
XMLog

If your log program is not listed it still
may work if the database type and field names are the same as one
of the versions listed.
If your log program is not listed, or you find that your version of
a particular log program does not work correctly, you can export your
log to ADIF format then import that file into Award Tracker as well.

Award Tracker currently can process awards for ARRL, 10-10 International,
CQ, OMISS, 070 Club, European PSK Club, Islands on the Air (IOTA),
Summits on the Air (SOTA), Asian-African Conference Award (AAC), and
Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC).
Not all awards are available at this time for all listed organizations.
More awards are being added regularly.

Award Tracker also allows for the operator to create custom queries.
Using basic SQL statements you can query the database regardless of
which log program you are using. This is possible because the
database of the log program is imported into a temporary database
when it is loaded into Award Tracker.

How it works.
Award tracker imports the fields of your data source into ADIF version
3.x compliant data. From there it is filtered returning the results
for the award you have selected.

NOTICE: Award Tracker uses ADIF compliant data to process
the awards you select. If your data is not in the correct field
or is not formatted correctly the award may not produce accurate
results. See adif.org for details.

NOTICE: Award Tracker is regularly being updated so this manual may
not be completely up to date.

WARNING: Do not enable “Debug Mode” unless asked to do so. It is for
troubleshooting issues with Award Tracker and will severely degrade
its performance.

• 1. DownloadAward Tracker and save it to a location of your choice.
• 2. Run the AwardTracker.msi file you have just downloaded and follow the prompts.

After you install Award Tracker, you will be notified to select the log program

you are using from the configuration.

Click on ‘OK’ and the configuration form will be displayed.

Select the log program you use and click on the save button. You will now receive a

prompt that your data file or database is not found.

Click ‘OK’ and one of two dialogs will be displayed. If you select

Ham Radio Deluxe you will see a dialog similar to the one below.

All other log program types will have a file open dialog box. You

will need to browse to your log program’s database or data file

and click on “Open”.

By default Award Tracker is set to sync the database automatically and

should synchronize the database.

After this initial step is complete you should update the support files.

You may be notified of this by Award Tracker. To download the support

files, click on the “File” menu option. Under file click on “Update

Support Files”. You will then see a dialog box describing which

files Award Tracker is downloading.

 

When all the support files are downloaded the dialog box will close.

To load the Award Tracker Configuration in the menu select Settings -> Configuration. You can make all the changes necessary in all tabs then click on the “Save” button to save your changes. If you click the Cancel button then all the changes you have made will be lost.

Each of the tabs in the configuration contains options for Award Tracker as well as specific organizations or log programs.

• Award Tracker – Contains the basic Award Tracker configuration options.
• Support Files – Contains the url locations for some of the Award Tracker support files.
• General – Contains the band options for the General ‘WAS Summary’.
• 10-10 – Contains the options for Ten-Ten International awards.
• 070 Club – Contains the configuration options for the POCDX 070 Club
• OMISS – Contains the configuration options for OMISS
• IOTA – Contains the configuration options for IOTA
• Search – Contains the configuration for the fields to be returned in the search tool.
• HRD – Contains the configuration of the url’s for the support files for Ham Radio Deluxe.
• ACLog – Contains the configuration options for ACLog.

The ‘Save’ & ‘Cancel’ buttons

Make all required changes to the Award Tracker configuration then click on ‘Save’.

Clicking ‘Cancel’ will undo all changes you have made to the configuration.

Log Program

Using the radio buttons in the ‘Log Program’ section select the log program you are using.

You may choose from Ham Radio Deluxe, ACLog 5.x, DXLab, PSK Express, or ADIF File. If you select ADIF File this file must conform to

the ADIF version 2.x or 3.x standards at http://www.adif.org.

Sync Logbook Database

Setting the ‘Sync Logbook Database’ option to ‘Manual’ will synchronize the log program database only when the user click on the refresh icon.

!!If you use this setting be sure to click on the refresh icon if you change log programs!!

Setting it to ‘Auto’ will cause Award Tracker to synchronize the log program database every time Award Tracker is started and if you change the ‘Log Program’ type.

CSV Export Headers

Setting the ‘CSV Export Headers’ radio button to ‘Yes’ causes the CSV export option to include the field names when the file is created.

Setting the the option to ‘No’ will cause the CSV export to only include the data for the records and will not include the field names.

Assume TX Power

Setting the ‘Assume TX Power’ radio button to ‘Yes’ will set the ‘TX_PWR’ field to the value entered in the box if the power field is not set in the source data.

By setting the option to ‘No’ there will be no change to the ‘TX_PWR’ field.

Band to Frequency?

Setting the ‘Band to Frequency’ to ‘Yes’ causes the ‘FREQ’ field to be populated with a default value based on the band if the ‘FREQ’ field is empty.

Check for Updates

Set the ‘Check for Updates’ option to ‘Yes’ (default) to have the application automatically check for updates.

Setting the option to ‘No’ will prevent the application from checking for updates.

“Award Url’s”

Enter the URL of the Award Tracker ‘Award List’. Default is https://www.w5djt.com/awdtrk/awardurls.txt.
If you change this address the file must conform to the correct format.

“Country File”

Enter the URL of the Award Tracker ‘Country File’. Award Tracker uses the same country file as version 3 of ACLog.

Default is http://country-files.com/n3fjp/ADIFCnt.txt.

Show Icons

Select the icons you want to be displayed at the top of Award Tracker. Clicking the ‘All’ box will

toggle all boxes checked or unchecked.

WAS Summary

Select the bands you want to be displayed in the ‘General Awards’ WAS Summary. Clicking the ‘All’ box will

toggle all boxes checked or unchecked.

Logger32’s database can not be read by Award Tracker. Award Tracker can however use
the ADIF Audit Trail function of Logger32 to load the records into the temporary database.

If you have installed Logger32 anywhere other than the default “C:\Logger32” then the below instructions
will not work. In the future plans are to make it work with user configured path settings,
but this release is to just get the process available and tested.

Working with Logger32 and Award Tracker is not as straight forward as other logging applications.
In order for Award Tracker to read the data from Logger32 you must complete the following
steps that utilize ADIF formatted files generated by Logger32. Once you have Award Tracker
and Logger32 configured correctly there are no differences in function of Award Tracker vs
other logbook applications.

First you need to open Logger32 to generate the base ADIF file.
Click on File -> Export Logs -> ADIF (.adi) file

Make sure you have “All Operators”, “Include logbook informational entries”, “Export Latitude/Longitude”,
and “Export full county name” are all checked.

Click the “Start” button.
In the “Open” dialog filename text box type “AwardTracker.adi” then click “Open”. I suggest using the default
C:\Logger32 as the path of the AwardTacker.adi file so the two files that Award Tracker will use will be
located in the same folder.

If you receive this alert then click on “Replace”.

Award Tracker configuration.

Turn on the ADIF Audit Trail in Logger32 using Award Tracker’s configuration. Click on
Settings -> Configure then the Logger32 tab. Check the ‘Enable Logger32
“ADIF Audit Trail” ‘ box and click save.

Now Close and Reopen Logger32. If everything is correctly set when you add, edit, or delete a log
entry it will be written to “ADIF Audit Trail.txt” inside the C:\Logger32 folder. This allows
Award Tracker to be able to load the latest data each time you ‘sync’ the database.

The filters allow you to customize some awards to limit your results according to the number of records, band,

mode, power, and qsl received.

The records filter is pretty straight forward. Enter the maximum number of results you want Award Tracker to return

for the selected award.

The band filter allows you to limit your results, well, by band. If you want to return results for a single band

simply use the band number followed by “M”. Example: 10M. You can use “HF”, “HF+6”, “WARC”, or “VU” instead if you wish to

show results within a group of bands.

The mode filter allows you to limit your results by mode. If you want to return results for a single mode

simply enter the mode into the box. Example: CW. You can use “DIGITAL”, “PHONE”, “PSK”, or “SSB” instead if you wish to

show results within a group of modes.

Anniversary QSO Party

Award tracker will automatically change the anniversary number in February of each year

for the Anniversary QSO Party. For example the year 2016 is the 53rd

anniversary and Award Tracker will calculate for the 53rd

anniversary through Jan 31, 2017 to allow everyone time to get their log

submitted. On Feb. 1, 2017 Award Tracker will start calculating for the

54th anniversary and so on for the following years.

Using the ‘Search’ feature, you have the ability to use basic SQL queries against the

log book database.
